Positioning, Service Design & Launch Strategy

Website copy, outreach & sales emails, marketing plan, course & offer design

The Challenge

Kelsey Lindell, CEO of Misfit Media, had been working as a trainer and marketer focused on disability inclusion for several years.

As a naturally creative and multi-talented individual, Kelsey was able to deliver many different types of work and while the value to those 'in the know' was clear, cold inquiries were infrequent and referrals the main source of revenue.

We suspected there was a gap in understanding between those already aware of disability inclusive media and challenges therein, and those who could benefit from learning. We also believed there was no clear path or specific services to hire Kelsey, and that the ROI & value conversations were difficult to communicate to such a broad audience. We were so excited to work on this project with such enormous potential.

The Process

We began with a usability study on the current language—interviewing current and ideal customers to understand where the gaps in communication were, what their unique challenges were and how we could build a service designed better for them.

We created 3 tiers of services and helped begin the brand development for Misfit Media, a new agency based on Kelsey's work. We worked to streamline the language, messaging and voice and crafted a media outreach strategy. And then we strategized the launch & debut of Misfits Media.

We wrote & designed the MVP version of the website and worked with Kelsey to craft debut messaging with outreach to key contacts.

The Results

Within 36 hours of launching the new company and services, Misfit Media had a $50,000 pipeline of new business—a trend that continued to build over the next few weeks.

In the weeks and months that followed, invitations for speaking opportunities, event registrations and overall engagement on social platforms were on average higher than before the launch. Views, leads and new business have all increased. The impact of our work continues to shape the growth of Misfit Media and our two companies have forged a partnership working together to close the disabled creatives talent gap in our industry.

Before & After

Before, Kelsey's page was focused on activism and public speaking.

Our work created a direct pathway to customer benefit and made it easy to understand how this work transforms organizations.
